A Bridge is a fixed solution for missing teeth. Basically, the adjacent tooth or teeth are used to support the false tooth (as long as they are strong and healthy enough) and the whole bridge is cemented into position.

There are two main types of bridges. If the supporting tooth already requires a crown, this can be used to support a conventional bridge which is essentially a false tooth attached to a crown. However, if the adjacent tooth is unfilled and completely sound, we can always consider a 'sticky bridge' which is bonded into place and is a more conservative option which could be considered in some situations.

Bridges can also be used as a temporary way to hide a space while a dental implant is being planned or is healing under the gums.
